Part 2 of our road trip was a leisurely drive from Fraserburg to Prince Albert (our honeymoon spot 3 years ago) a pit-stop in Oudtshoorn then a trek through the Outeniqua pass to their farm at the Crags. I was so full of Karoo sunshine and relaxation that I didn't want to leave. I realised that I am more of a hot dry desert person than a cool wet forest person. But after a day in the rain-soaked mossy glades and a long swim in the sea I slowly acclimatised and realised I love both. But if i had to choose, if I really had to (which I don't but I will) it will be Karoo over Forest. Any day.
